I am Oksana Perets (she/her). I'm a registered clinical counsellor privileged to work and live on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen Peoples. I work with a range of issues, including life transitions, depression, anxiety, body image concerns, loss and grief. Some of the issues that are particularly close to me personally and professionally are intergenerational trauma and women's mental health.
My counselling approach is culturally sensitive, collaborative and relational, focusing on the uniqueness of each client's inner world. I use narrative and person-centred approaches, honouring that you are the expert in your life. I offer my clients a safe, welcoming and nonjudgmental space to explore what's in their minds and hearts.
In addition to my Master of Counselling (City University), I also have a Master's degree in Translation Studies (University of Alberta). While I offer my services in English and Ukrainian, I have enjoyed learning German, Polish, Spanish and French, which has opened my mind to different ways of being human.
I am very grateful to be an associate of Jude Marleau, who has generously shared her knowledge, skills, and support throughout this journey. I offer free 20-minute initial consultations and in-person and remote sessions.
